Republic Day Essay in Hindi, India will celebrate its 73rd Republic Day on 26 January 2022. India celebrates Republic Day in honor of the day when the Constitution of India came into force in the year 1950. Republic Day is declared as a national holiday in India. All government and private, work places, schools, colleges are closed or they celebrate this day by hosting the national tricolor flag of India and distributing sweets among children and others. A grand military parade is organized in New Delhi, the national capital of India. India has always proudly celebrated this day. Among the three national festivals of India, Republic Day is one of the most important national festivals of India which is celebrated on 26th January every Year. Republic Day is celebrated by every citizen of India on 26 January because on this day the Constitution of India came into force in 1950 replacing the “Government of India Act” and after independence in 1947, India became a democratic republic country.

To showcase the beautiful relationship between India’s cities, state and countrymen, huge beautiful tableaux designed by various ministers of India are displayed during the parade to show unity among Indians. The parade follows the President of India as the Supreme Commander of the Army. The President of India hoists the national flag. People from different countries, cities and states gather to watch this Republic Day parade and tableau display.

India is a fear-free country which is ready to fight any social movement or any dangerous situation. The Indian government is very polite to the rest of the countries and they have helped other countries even in every difficult situation. On the occasion of Republic Day, the Presidents of other countries are invited as chief guests in the ceremony. But this year no guests are coming from other countries due to Corona epidemic.

Importance of Republic Day

Republic Day is not an ordinary festival for the countrymen. It is the national festival of India. People of all castes and religions celebrate it with great enthusiasm. However, after independence in 1947, India was not completely independent and was following it. After the newly announced “Constitution” of India headed by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, laws made by the British government became an established democratic country on the world stage. If we are free to decide freely or raise our voice against any kind of malpractice or oppression then it is possible only because of the democratic nature of our country. That is why it is so important.

History of Republic Day

The Republic Day being held on 26 January was not a coincidence. Has a past and is quite interesting. When Congress first demanded Purna Swaraj on 26 January in 1930. It started in 1929 during the Congress session under the chairmanship of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in Lahore, then the Congress announced to give an autonomous rule for India on and after 26 January 1930. India would declare itself a completely independent country, but when there was no response from the British government on this issue, after that the Congress started its active movement to get complete independence from that day. However, when India became independent on 15 August 1947, remembering the day of 26 January, the Constitution of India was established on that day.

Celebration of Republic Day

Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26 January. The President of India hoists the national flag at the Rajpath in Delhi and then the national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ is sung standing up by all the others present there. After that various cultural programs like dance, singing are performed. Parades, march pasts, events are organized by various regiments of Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

It shows diplomatic power to send a message to the world that we are capable of defending ourselves. We also invite chief guests from different countries to enhance our relations with other countries. The day is celebrated by singing the national anthem of India and some other patriotic songs of India. Some other cultural programs based on Indian freedom fighters are presented by the students in various schools and colleges. There is a lot of crowd among the people in the celebrations of Republic Day.
